Welcome to Seneca Area Agency on Aging

"Focusing on independence and quality of life for the mature adult."

In today’s changing and challenging society many older adults are looking forward to longer more active lives. Through Seneca Area Agency on Aging, we hope to provide not only services but also opportunity for lifelong contributions to society, in addition to a secure life free from the basic needs. Seneca Area Agency on Aging services the counties of Appanoose, Davis, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lucas, Mahaska, Monroe, Van Buren, Wapello and Wayne.

Seneca Area Agency on Aging is one of 655 Area Agencies on Aging nationwide authorized through the Older Americans Act of 1965. Established in 1973 through an amendment to the Older American Act, the Area Agency on Aging network is the largest nationwide service designated specially to address nutritional and supportive service needs of our 60+ population segment. Area Agencies on Aging are a partnership among federal, state, and local government, and the private sector to advance the social and economic priorities of the elderly.

Our Mission is to advocate for and provide assistance to older persons in a non-discriminatory manner, working toward fostering and maintaining independence while preserving the dignity of each individual and focusing on their quality of life.
