The Nutrition program of Seneca Area Agency on Aging is designed to promote better health among mature Americans. The main services of this program are:
- Congregate Meals provide a nutritious meal and reduces isolation of older persons by combining food with friendship and socialization. The program is available to persons 60 years of age and over and their spouse regardless of age.
- Home Delivered Meals are designed for the homebound individual. The delivery of this nutritionally sound meal may be invaluable in allowing an individual to remain in his or her own home.
- Shelf Stable Meals meet the 1/3 RDA for a mature adult. Various menu selections are attractively packaged to satisfy your meal needs as well as for emergency situation when you can not attend a meal site or receive a home delivered meal.
- Nutrition Education is provided at each Senior Center meal site as well as included with home delivered meals. This information is provided to keep mature adults up to date on health and nutrition issues.
